JOB ANNOUNCEMENT GOVERNANCE MANAGER DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $110,940 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 04/6/2026 Under supervision, the class is responsible for managing, measuring. and monitoring controls in support of decision-making, policies, risk management and compliance, while supporting IT governance activities that ensure alignment with departmental standards, enterprise policies, and organizational objectives, while supporting IT governance activities that ensure alignment with departmental standards, enterprise policies, and organizational objectives, and performs related duties as required. This class is assigned to the City's Functional Support Information Technology Job Family which supports associates plans, manages. and delivers business functional activities in support of business performance, including activities that reinforce technology governance practices across the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Provides oversight of software, product, and business customer operations including continuity management, automated testing, and change management * Supports process documentation and review; reporting and analytics; managing, measuring. and monitoring controls in support of decision-making policies and compliance * Supports the implementation of IT governance standards, policies, and procedures to guide technology operations and decision-making * Assists in coordinating cross-department governance activities to ensure alignment with technology strategies and compliance requirements * Supports monitoring of key performance measures that provide visibility into governance and operational outcomes * Assists in supporting IT risk management processes related to governance activities, including escalation and documentation practices * Coordinates and tracks audits and provides guidance on appropriate audit responses * Monitors technology usage and ensuring processes and policies are adhered to for new technology within the environment * Drives compliance by providing governance and ensuring compliance across and within the organization. * Creates and manages against objectives and key results (OKRs) * Works as a willing and valued team member accountable for achieving OKRs that drive success Additional duties may be required for this position Location: 2 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL Days: Monday-Friday Hours: 8am-4pm (flexible) THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience * Seven (7) years of work experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Information Security, or Audit, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree, plus five (5) years of work experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Information Security, or Audit, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, plus three (3) years of work experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Information Security, or Audit, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher, plus two (2) years of work experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Information Security, or Audit SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview.
