Job Description

Step into a key role supporting the S9G Programs subdivision-the team driving propulsion plant work for the VIRGINIA Class submarine program. In this position, you'll provide high?impact administrative support to four units at the Knolls site and one at the Bettis site, becoming an essential partner in keeping operations running smoothly. You'll collaborate closely with a network of FPP administrative assistants and play an important leadership role by mentoring and guiding other Administrative Assistants, helping elevate the entire team's performance and effectiveness. Responsibilities include:




  • Developing, communicating, and enforcing procedures and templates for written and electronic communications
  • Managing calendars, scheduling appointments and meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements, including complex group, emergent, and international travel
  • Maintaining and tracking sensitive data, analyzing results, and updating management on key findings or trends
  • Leading complex administrative programs, projects, and processes using strong interpersonal skills, and supporting special projects as needed

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or; Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or; Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Proven experience supporting multiple teams or units simultaneously
  • Experience coordinating domestic and international travel, including multi?leg or group itineraries
  • Prior experience mentoring or training other administrative staff
  • Proficiency with relevant software systems (e.g., SAP, MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint), ideally with advanced-level skills

Pay Range
$56,900.00 - $87,100.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
