The Weitz Company is hiring Mission Critical Plus (MC+) Project Superintendents on small to medium-sized retrofit, upgrade, and tenant improvement projects within active data center environments in Northern Virginia.

The Mission Critical Plus (MC+) Project Superintendent I is responsible for profitable field operations on small to medium size retrofit, upgrade, and tenant improvement projects within active data center environments. MC+ data center projects typically include Day-2 lifecycle services, tenant fit-out (TFO), infrastructure upgrades, cooling retrofits, electrical modifications, and operational improvements performed in live operating facilities. The Project Superintendent is also responsible to establish the safety culture on the jobsite and work closely with Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staff to achieve profitable outcomes.In Mission Critical Plus (MC+) assignments, the Superintendent may also lead field operations for retrofit, upgrade, and tenant improvement work performed within active data center environments, requiring careful coordination with facility operations teams and adherence to strict reliability and safety standards. Has the ability to maintain strict procedural requirements, unique to the production space that work is being conducted in. Project Superintendents should also create and maintain effective client, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.For Mission Critical Plus (MC+) assignments, the Superintendent is responsible for coordinating field activities with operational facilities, ensuring work is executed safely while maintaining the reliability of uptime of critical infrastructure. This individual typically reports directly to the Project Manager.

What You'll Do:



  • Lead and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily field operations to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to protect active operations and critical infrastructure.
  • Plan and manage project execution, including scheduling, labor forecasting, site logistics, and self-performed work.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination, preconstruction meetings, and ongoing communication to ensure alignment on scope and expectations.
  • Monitor project costs, track progress, and support accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with contracts, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to RFIs, manage field documentation, and ensure timely submittals and approvals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support team development through training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with hiring, staff development, and business development efforts as needed.
  • Execute project closeout activities, including punch lists and as-built documentation.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all phases of construction.
  • Other duties as assigned



What We're Looking For:



  • Experience:

    • A minimum of five years of project construction superintending experience is required.
    • Experience in mission-critical data center facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare or other operational environments is preferred.
    • Proven history of leading others successfully and to teach, develop and mentor others.
    • Familiarity with data center infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and structured cabling is beneficial.

    • Ability to compare and analyze various systems and related cost impacts
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Ability to balance and prioritize projects with impending deadlines

  • Technology:

    • Candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Apple products (iPhone & iPad) and have the ability to learn specific software.
    • Solid systems experience with Prolog, JDE, and SureTrack is preferred.
    • Training will be provided on company standards.
