Position Summary

In addition to the above, the candidate will be closely involved with the following tasks:

• Build, design and test NMR probes and RF infrastructure for the collection of NMR.
• Fit, plot and develop models for the buildup of spin hyperpolarization in NMR, including via solutions of Bloch equations and other numerical methods.
• Simulate RF coils for the optimal production of NMR hyperpolarization via software packages related to RF and high-frequency electronics; design and test printed circuit boards and circuits based on the simulated design.

Responsibilities

• Plans statistical studies, drafts and prepares text of proposals, journal articles, multimedia presentations, and other media.
• Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes the collection of information and data; recommends statistical approaches, trends, sources and uses.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Liaise and Communicate performance requirements to vendors for procurement of NMR probes and RF infrastructure for the collection of NMR hyperpolarization data.
• Analyzes the interrelationships of data and defines logical aspects of data sets.
• Identifies multivariate strategies.
• Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends.
• Build, design and test NMR probes and RF infrastructure for the collection of NMR hyperpolarization data.
• Fit, plot and develop models for the buildup of spin hyperpolarization in NMR, including via solutions of Bloch equations and other numerical methods.
• Simulate RF coils for the optimal production of NMR hyperpolarization via software packages related to RF and high-frequency electronics; design and test printed circuit boards and circuits based on the simulated design.

Required Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of research function.
• Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.
• Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

• Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
• Skills in project management.
• Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $91,500.00 - $92,700.00. The full pay scale for this classification is $91,500.00 - $168,900.00. Both ranges are shown at 100% FTE.

• This is a part-time (34 hours/week), career position that is eligible for UC Benefits.
• This is an exempt monthly-paid position.

• This position will be governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Research and Public Service Professionals, represented by the UAW.
