About the role

The Quality Control Technician (QCT) is responsible for ensuring that work orders performed by maintenance technicians and/or third-party contractors are documented and completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to quality standards. This role involves reviewing and inspecting work orders, verifying tasks are performed correctly and documented, and identifying any discrepancies or issues. The Quality Control Technician will work closely with our maintenance leadership and teams to uphold our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing



  • Review and inspect work orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Verify that tasks outlined in work orders are performed correctly and documented appropriately
  • Document and report any discrepancies or issues found during inspections
  • Collaborate with maintenance leadership and teams to address and resolve work order issues.
  • Monitor work order performance metrics and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of work order quality control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits of work order processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry
  • Provide training and support to onsite staff on work order quality control processes and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance work order performance and overall
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Review at least 5% of specific classifications (EUR) of work orders that are completed either by maintenance personnel or third-party contractors.
  • Responsible for inspecting all work orders related to Gas Fired appliances (HVAC, Water heaters, gas appliances and meters) and Environmental conditions (i.e. Lead Based paint, Asbestos containing material and mold remediation)
  • Identify the cause of any substandard work of maintenance and/or third-party contractor and collaborate with management on action plan for correction. This
    could include training, best practices, improved processes, etc.
  • Authors and creates all corresponding documentation through the inspection app, tracking inspection results and communicates all findings with the onsite leadership team.
  • Assist where requested in the development and implementation of work order quality control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits of work order processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations


Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, equipment, supplies, and office equipment. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 75 lbs.

Typical Work Conditions: Work is performed in a maintenance/office/residential home environment. Employee frequently interacts directly with other staff members, contractors as well as residents during the workday.

Who we're looking for



  • High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree in a related field is preferred
    Active and Valid Driver's license
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Certificate for CO2 analyzer and Gas Detectors or ability to complete course within 90 days of employment.
  • Required Combustible gas indicator, and CO2 analyzer and Gas Detectors certifications
  • Mech IV Certification preferred
  • Combustible gas indicator Certification or ability to complete course within 90 days of employment
  • Minimum of (10) years maintenance experience
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Proven experience in quality control, Residential Construction, Facility Maintenance, Property Management, Contract Oversight, Home Inspection
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills
  • Familiarity with work order processes and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong time management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, environmental.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform inspections on completed work
  • Demonstrated ability to train on skill trades and provide guidance to technicians
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,PowerPoint)
  • Possession of a valid state issued Drivers License and safe driving record is required.
