Position Summary

The Membership Specialist manages the full lifecycle of membership engagement-from outreach and enrollment to retention and ongoing support. Position will also be tasked with maintaining records, tracking membership figures, and coordinating with marketing, operations, finance, and program teams to support membership initiatives.

Essential Functions

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Promote membership benefits through meetings/events, presentations, and digital outreach.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective members and guide them through the enrollment process.
  • Develop and support marketing campaigns.

Onboarding & Support

  • Welcome new members, provide orientation materials, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member questions, concerns, and service needs.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service to build strong member relationships.

Engagement & Retention

  • Assist in planning and executing member events, workshops, or programs.
  • Conduct outreach to atrisk or inactive members to encourage continued participation.
  • Gather feedback to improve the member experience and recommend enhancements.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, operations, finance, and program teams to support membership initiatives.
  • Provide insights to leadership on member needs, satisfaction, and opportunities for growth.

Membership Administration

  • Process new applications, renewals, cancellations, and account updates accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain member records in CRM.
  • Track membership metrics, prepare reports, and identify trends in engagement or retention.
Information Security Responsibilities
  • Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date.
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures.
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department.
Education and Experience
  • A college degree or comparable work experience.
Other Qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations.
  • Creative
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • A "team player" and able to work well with all staff.
  • Able to accept work assignments from more than one supervisor and work well under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS office suite, CRM or membership management software, Adobe Acrobat Exchange.
  • Good writing and proofreading skills.
  • Solid data entry skills with strong attention to detail.

Starting compensation will be in the $74,400 to $82,800 range, depending on education, experience, and other qualifications.
