Software Intern

Bio-Rad Laboratories
parental leave, paid time off, 401(k), profit sharing
United States, California, Hercules
Mar 21, 2026

During this internship, the candidate will play a key role in advancing our engineering team's adoption of agentic AI workflows. Their day will center on building specialized AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, configuring secure connectors to internal development tools such as Jira, Jama, and TFS, and designing automated workflows that integrate human-in-the-loop decision points. They will validate each agent's accuracy, ensure workflow completeness, and refine behaviors based on real test and development scenarios. In parallel, they will write Python scripts to integrate agents with CI/CD triggers, create automated actions, and enable hands-free execution of routine test and development tasks. Working closely with software developers and SQA engineers, they will help accelerate sprint deliverables, shorten test cycles, and demonstrate how agentic AI can be safely and effectively embedded in our engineering processes.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Accelerate adoption of AI-driven automation across testing and development workflows.
  • Build and integrate AI agents to reduce manual effort and improve consistency of routine engineering tasks.
  • Enable hands-free execution of repetitive actions through automation and workflow triggers.
  • Validate agent accuracy and refine human-in-the-loop processes to ensure reliable, complete workflows.
  • Contribute to faster sprint cycles, higher test throughput, and scalable engineering processes.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
  • Strong Systems Thinking - Understands how tools, data sources, workflows, and human decisions fit together in a larger engineering process.
  • AI/Automation Mindset - Comfortable building agents, evaluating accuracy, and designing workflows that combine automation with human oversight.
  • Solid Python Skills - Able to write clean, reliable scripts that integrate agents, define triggers, and support CI/CD automation.
  • Tool-Chain Fluency - Familiar with platforms like Jira, Jama, TFS/Azure DevOps, Git, and workflow automation frameworks.
  • Collaborative Communication - Works closely with developers and SQA engineers to understand use cases, validate behaviors, and iterate quickly.
  • 3.0 Minimum GPA.
  • Rising Juniors, Seniors, and Masters Students.
  • Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 9 weeks from June 15 to August 14, 2026.
