The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies (
WGSS) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for a Non-Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of women's, gender and sexuality studies to begin July 1, 2026. We seek a candidate with strong background in women's, gender, and sexuality studies with a specialization in LGBTQ+ cultural studies. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate teaching experience in courses on theories of gender and sexuality and whose research has engaged the field of visual culture and feminist writing.
Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field, along with a strong teaching portfolio commensurate with the rank of the position being applied for. The full-time position comes with a 3-3 teaching load, and duties include teaching, advising, and service contributions within the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
