The Manager of Security Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations across Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) System of Care. This role is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. The security program will be managed through established standards including effective staffing assignments to meet security and safety needs. The Manager collaborates with leaders to align security services/programs with CHCO's overall strategic and operational objectives. The Manager of Security Operations has responsibility to manage the security vendor in the MSA and to raise awareness regarding security, safety, and fiscal concerns or challenges.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Plans, operates and manages the system's Security Management Program to provide for the overall Joint Commission and regulatory compliance, security, loss prevention, workplace violence, emergency response, investigations and asset protection for the organization's team members, patients and families and property.
2. Manages day to day operations and security personnel, including vendors, in planning and facilitating efficient security services to ensure quality, consistency and safety across the system
3. Provides reports on incidents, use of force and training requirements to ensure compliance with policies and law
4. Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.
5. Oversees third-party contractors and responsible for their operational management processes.
6. Maintains compliance with all healthcare safety and security based regulatory standards, rules and regulations.
7. Collaborates with the Director to determine the highest and best use of access control systems and digital recording systems and other security technology and patient safety priorities.
8. Works with departmental leaders to establish reliable data associated with critical goals and other key performance indicators.
9. Performs project management activities and provides technical expertise on programs, processes and best practices.
10. Participates in leadership activities for department, contributing to the organization's achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates team performance. Defines and maintains internal processes for function; establishes customer service standards and handles operational and customer service escalations for function. Nurtures the organizational culture, influencing change to support functional objectives.
11. Develops and maintains partnerships with community partners. (e.g. Law Enforcement).
12. Participates in developing budget recommendations, monitoring budget and identifying cost saving opportunities
13. Coordinates internal resources and third-parties' contractors for the execution of programs, projects, or initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations, Health Care Administration, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in healthcare or governmental operations.
- Equivalency: Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Licensure(s): Valid Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit for the state of Colorado is required at time of hire
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $82,095.81 to $123,143.72
