What you'll be challenged to do:

The successful candidate will have a desire to learn the design aspects of various power generation projects. You will work with our senior staff to learn and strengthen your understanding of designing utility class electrical substations and power plants.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepares plans and details with limited complexity in support of broader engineering activities
  • Collects field and equipment data to be used for design.
  • Utilizes CAD software to develop construction plans
  • Works within a design group to complete projects
  • Provides drafting support to engineers including general arrangements, P&IDS, piping plans, ISO drawings, single-line, three-lines, schematics, foundation drawings, etc.
  • Prepares and develops construction drawing packages
  • Develops plans and drawings utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and/or MicroStation software
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to learn and implement client drafting standards
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • CAD certifications, Associated Degree or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience in the utility or power industry.
  • Demonstrated interest in power engineering through applied academic coursework, internships, or past experiences.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and/or MicroStation
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of and experience with mechanical piping design preferred
  • Familiarity with piping codes (e.g. ASME B31.1), materials, and industrial equipment like pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, preferred
  • Good written and verbal communications skills

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $30.00 - $50.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
