Aircraft Component Mechanic

STS Technical Services is seeking experienced Aircraft Component Mechanics to support accessory shop operations in La Vergne, Tennessee. This role is built for mechanics who understand aircraft component overhaul, can troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, and know how to work inside a regulated FAA Part 145 environment without cutting corners.

If you have hands-on experience with aircraft accessories, precision measurement tools, and component testing procedures, this is your lane.


Job Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble aircraft accessories and mechanical components
  • Work on starters, generators, alternators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, valves, gearboxes, and related systems
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, IPCs, CMMs, AMMs, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives
  • Perform bearing removal and installation, seal replacement, gasket replacement, and component adjustments
  • Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Conduct troubleshooting and fault isolation on mechanical and electromechanical components
  • Perform functional, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical testing using test benches and test stands
  • Complete work orders, repair tags, inspection documentation, and testing records accurately
  • Support inspection and quality control activities to ensure compliance with company and FAA standards
  • Maintain strong FOD awareness and follow all PPE and safety requirements


Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with aircraft component repair and overhaul required
  • Experience working in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station preferred
  • Strong understanding of component overhaul processes and aviation maintenance documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documentation
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and shop equipment
  • Experience performing functional and leak testing on aircraft components
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Aviation maintenance school training preferred
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License is a strong plus
