Job Summary:

The Quality & OPEX Director position is responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading the team in quality improvement initiatives. The Director will also identify, prioritize, and execute critical operational improvements focusing on hard savings and improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ultimately, this role is responsible for ensuring that the assigned business unit meets all internal and external Key Performance Indicators on a monthly basis as well as establishing and maintaining a professional relationship between the business unit and its customers and suppliers.

Essential Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to develop a strategy to identify, assess, and remediate current and previous Quality Management System risks and gaps,
  • Promotes quality culture throughout the organization.
  • Lead team of 13 direct and indirect reports.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate customer complaints and develop corrective action plans.
  • Lead project teams in continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and execute hard savings.

Essential Duties:

  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Reduce internal DPU at quality gates
    • Reduce DPU at Fleetwood Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
    • Reduce DPU at Dealer Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
    • Reduction in pre & post warranty costs
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and management of the Quality Management System, including Document Control, CARS, SCAR's, and Stop Ship Logs.
  • Track & report out project savings via Lean DNA and Power BI Reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to quickly gain trust and build relationships
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business Administration, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in Quality Management, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt Certification or relevant experience preferred
