Our Strategic Sourcing Team provides support for regional and corporate projects. We play a key part in developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and long-term value across multiple spend categories.

You will prepare proposals and bids, participate in negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment. You will contribute to the operational plan of our department.

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Commodity Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, risk, and supplier performance across assigned categories. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and key stakeholders to ensure supply continuity, drive value creation, and support long-term business objectives.

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business and operational goals

  • Lead supplier sourcing, selection, negotiations, and contracting to achieve cost savings and value creation

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supply continuity and geopolitical exposure

  • Drive supplier performance management, including KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance on sourcing decisions

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and change management initiatives

  • Analyze market trends, commodity indices, and total cost of ownership (TCO)

  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards

  • Lead or support cost-reduction, productivity, and value-engineering initiatives

  • Have bachelor's degree or relevant years of experience with at least 3-4 years of experience with Strategic Sourcing

  • Have category experience with electrical devices and components, PCBAs, Metallic and non-metallic parts.

  • Have strategic thinking and execution

  • Have Data driven decision making

  • Have strong ownership and accountability

  • Have continuous improvement mind set

  • Be a good team player and display good communication skills. Be able to show good problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrate negotiation skills & contract development

The annual pay scale for this position is between $83,630.00 - $155,350.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation. You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which can be found here, and is further eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses subject to the terms of the applicable benefit plans or policies.
