Department Summary Established in 1970 and formalized as a department within the Campus Life Division of Student Affairs in 2003, the Community Programs Office (CPO) serves as an essential resource for the UCLA student body. Originally housed in Dodd Hall, the CPO transitioned to the Student Activities Center following the student-led SPARC referendum in 2000. The department provides comprehensive academic, professional, and personal support through programs focused on educational advancement, career development, and access to basic and essential needs resources, while fostering collaboration and engagement within the campus community. By connecting students with these opportunities, the CPO helps them develop the leadership skills, career readiness, and practical problem-solving abilities necessary for future success. Through continuous program development and direct support, the CPO remains dedicated to ensuring that students have the tools and resources they need to achieve their goals. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Internship Advisor coordinates the development and implementation of a comprehensive internship curriculum designed to enhance the professional readiness and leadership capabilities of students within the Community Programs Office (CPO). The incumbent provides developmental advising and mentorship to student interns, bridging academic theory with practical community-based learning initiatives while providing specialized counseling on leadership, professional growth, and strategic planning. The Internship Advisor spearheads the planning of student experiential learning opportunities and help manage the day-to-day operations of departmental student support programs to ensure both student success and departmental operational excellence. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range.
