Position Summary

The Manager, Payment Card Services is responsible for supervising and overseeing the daily operations of the Payment Card Services team, ensuring operational efficiency, service excellence, and adherence to University purchasing and payment card policies. The position provides advanced analytical oversight for all payment card programs, including Procurement Card (PCard), Travel & Entertainment Card (T&E), Payment Plus, Paymode-X, direct billed travel card, ghost card, and Zelle payment methods. The incumbent serves as the campus subject matter expert and primary advisor to leadership on payment card strategy, compliance, risk mitigation, and system functionality. The role exercises independent judgment to evaluate program health, interpret policy, resolve complex escalations, and recommend changes to policy, workflows, and system configurations. The Manager supervises professional financial services analysts performing analytical work, sets priorities, develops staff capability, and ensures the team's work meets quality, service, and control standards. The position ensures all internal controls are designed, maintained, and strengthened to protect University resources, while also meeting all reporting and audit requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Concur Expense administration (Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience working within or managing a high volume team in payment card program administration. (Required)
  • 2-3 years of experience supervising a team of individuals engaged in multi-step processes. (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of financial transactions, systems, and related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements. (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of human resources policies and procedures relevant to supervising professional staff. (Required)
  • Thorough understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources; ability to design and evaluate control effectiveness. (Required)
  • Proficiency in advanced spreadsheet and database functions to analyze large data sets and inform decision-making. (Required)
  • Ability to develop original solutions to complex problems and exercise sound professional judgment within established policy frameworks. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training. (Required)
