Job Summary
The Data Center Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating and supervising technicians performing structured cabling and infrastructure support activities within live data center environments. This role emphasizes team leadership, documentation management, and operational coordination rather than hands-on installation work. The Lead oversees daily crew activities, ensures accurate rack and cable documentation, and manages workflow through spreadsheet tracking and ticketing systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead teams while adhering to strict safety and uptime standards. Candidates must reside locally in the Bridgeport, Alabama area. Job Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate technicians performing structured cabling and infrastructure support tasks within data center environments
Assign daily tasks, monitor crew productivity, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
Oversee cable routing verification and porting activities following installation
Maintain accurate rack elevation documentation and cable location tracking using spreadsheet systems with coordinate mapping
Utilize ticketing systems to track project tasks, updates, and completion status
Communicate with project leadership regarding schedules, workflow coordination, and operational needs
Ensure all work complies with established safety standards and operational procedures
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to technicians while fostering a collaborative team environment
Review completed work to ensure quality and accuracy of documentation
Coordinate with technicians, leadership, and stakeholders to maintain project timelines
Job Requirements
Experience leading or supervising technicians in structured cabling or data center environments
Experience managing teams of approximately 4 to 6 technicians, with the ability to scale up to 20 personnel
Strong organizational and administrative skills with high attention to detail
Proficiency in spreadsheet and documentation tools
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar applications
Ability to track infrastructure using rack elevations and coordinate mapping systems
Familiarity with ticketing systems for tracking technical or operational work
Basic knowledge of structured cabling, including fiber and copper systems
Ability to work in live data center environments while maintaining safety and quality standards
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Must reside locally in the Bridgeport, Alabama area
