Position Description: Drive standardization in Accounting processes for office locations within a Business Center in alignment with organizational goals and responsiveness to business needs. Oversee Accounting Managers, systems, and functions to optimize productivity and streamline processes to enhance compliance. Lead Accounting team to transition, adopt, and implement best practices, support automation and use of Shared Services Organization (SSO) for transactional accounting. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Create supportive environment to develop high performing Finance team for office locations within a Business Center, provide training opportunities and engage in mentoring relationships.
- Oversee and track workload distribution of Accounting teams and collaborate with Business Center Resource Officer, Human Resources, and Accounting Managers to identify and plan for resource needs.
- Serve as primary point of contact for local office Accounting Managers to resolve project accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Lead Accounting team and other related team members, participate in interview process, onboarding of new employees, provide timely performance feedback, contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, and utilize talent management systems.
- Facilitate training on financial systems, processes, and compliance standards to relevant project teams and stakeholders and align accounting practices with company wide Financial transformation goals.
- Oversee Accountant teams' adherence to company financial policies and procedures, and of project accounting controls and compliance initiatives.
- Lead identification, adoption, and implementation of innovative project accounting processes, cash flow management, Work in Place (WIP) tracking, and revenue recognition.
- Liaise with Shared service Organization (SSO) to evaluate existing financial processes for opportunities to increase automation, efficiency, and add strategic value to Business Center. Drive adoption of automation and use of SSO services within across local offices within Business Center.
- Take active participation in companywide Financial initiatives and cascade implemtation to individual local offices.
- Collaborate with Financial Managers within local offices to implement company financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and with high responsiveness to evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with Business Center stakeholders (e.g., project teams, Finance leadership, and Operations) to determine decisions for accounting matters aligned with financial strategy.
- Oversee adherence for consistency of company standard for responses to internal and external financial audits within and across local offices.
- Active member of Business Center Finance leadership team to provide feedback on related Accounting activities, issues, and solutions.
- Address and resolve project financial risks for projects including enterprise business and communicate issues on matters related to cash management and policy compliance to Business Center Finance leadership team.
- Collaborate with insurance team to oversee local Accounting teams activities related to project teams' insurance claims, cash recoveries, transactional steps, and documentation.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field of study required with minimum of 10 years of related experience in project or construction finance supporting field operations. If the Bachelor's Degree is not in Finance or Accounting, or a related finance field, the completion of, or a commitment to pursue within one year, an approved accounting certificate (e.g., post-baccalaureate coursework or an accredited certification program such as CMA, CFA or among others) or an advanced business degree (e.g., MBA or Finance related Master's Degree) or CPA is required
- Approachable and able to engage with others to build relationships that affect work productivity
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Thorough application of accounting principles (GAAP, IAS, FARS, ERISA and IRS)
- Demonstrate understanding of cash flows and implements procedures to optimize interest income
- Experience with financial oversight, monitoring, and strategic financial planning
- Keen analytical ability required to review, assess, and interpret trends of large quantities of disparate financial data and audit
- Extensive knowledge of policies and procedures and able to identify problems, make recommendations, and resolve problems to completion
- Continuous improvement mindset with ability to offer ideas, options and opinions and focus on fostering change
- Ability to facilitate and implement process improvement ideas to improve department processes and operations
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion related to all business and people matters, maintains composure and objectivity in stressful situations/meetings
- Must keep abreast of current financial industry trends and updates
- Operate at an accelerated performance level with ability to prioritize many simultaneous complex and competing demands activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines for self and team
- Proficient computer skills and with Microsoft Office suite of applications, including advanced Excel skills, financial system applications.

The annual salary range for candidates in the Baltimore area is $140,000 - $209,000.
