Description

Currently, RG is looking to hire an Oracle Database Developer to support the Programmed Depot Maintenance Scheduling System (PDMSS). As part of RG's modernization of this sophisticated application, we are looking for an Oracle Database Developer to join our development team to provide expertise and support to optimize performance of the core database.

The Oracle Database Developer will work remotely as part of the development team to design and write efficient PL/SQL queries, procedures, and views in support of the team's development objectives. They will document their code, update the status of their work using Agile management tools (Jira/Confluence/GitHub) and provide input and expertise during design meetings, Team stand ups, and retrospectives.

A Day In the Life:

To help make our customer successful, the chosen candidate can expect to be involved with or responsible for:



  • Writing efficient and optimized PL/SQL queries, views, procedures, and triggers
  • Following coding standards and source control procedures for project
  • Adhering to customer provided security guidelines
  • Recommend data table modifications and assist with maintaining the data dictionary
  • Participating in Team Scrum meetings
  • Evaluating requested changes to determine direct and indirect impacts
  • Evaluating code performance for requirements adherence
  • Performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis tasks
  • Attending business analysis reviews to support new data requests or looking for efficiency opportunities
  • Maintaining Oracle 19c+ databases and making the structures more efficient
  • Performing data imports, exports, and backups across multiple Oracle database schemas

The ideal candidate will be able to ensure the PDMSS application achieves the Air Force's desired outcomes in terms of performance, usability, and visibility into insights of their data.

Qualifications

The Oracle Database Developer is an exempt customer-facing business professional that provides a variety of information directly to customers for their ongoing programs, new initiatives, strategic planning, and measurement/evaluation in one or more of RG's solutions. They possess excellent customer service skills, remain current on industry trends, value teamwork, and have a wide range of interpersonal skills. They will also:



  • Understand network and application performance and security considerations when writing queries and procedures
  • Exhibit troubleshooting and root cause analysis thought processes
  • Work within a team environment and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prioritize and work within Agile sprint time limits


Required Experience

To be successful in this role, all candidates must meet the below qualifications to be considered.



  • BA/BS Degree (additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years' experience as an Oracle PL/SQL developer
  • Experience with Oracle SQL Developer (or PL SQL Developer or VS Code with SQL Developer Plug-In)
  • Current NACI or ability to obtain one

  • Oracle Certifications
  • Ability to travel for technical meetings as required (anticipated <10%)
  • Working knowledge of Oracle query optimization techniques
  • Expertise in data modeling techniques
  • Experience in RESTful web services, endpoints, APIs, and the JSON format
  • Familiarity with Object/Relational Mapping (ORM) (Hibernate)
  • Modeling and executing historical data analytics
  • Current Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
