Position Summary

The Barista works in a fast paced, high volume environment while maintaining excellent customer service
skills. Displays strong organizational skills, handles high pressure situations, and maintains a composed,
positive attitude. Manages production activities and prepares drinks with speed and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares and makes drinks according to standard serving sizes.
2. Makes a conscious effort maintain a tidy and clean work space.
3. Accurately charges all customers the correct amount on the cash register.
4. Safely operates and maintains all equipment.
5. Practices safe food handling standards and maintains proper temperatures for all drinks and products
kept in the espresso bar area.
6. Exhibits teamwork and efficient time management by using extra time to assist coworkers and/or
cleaning.
7. Organizes time to accommodate workload, including unanticipated changes in volume.
8. Continuously monitors for unsafe situations within the department to prevent injury.
9. Provides excellent customer service to all patients, visitors and staff.
10. Supports innovations that are introduced by team leaders and managers.
11. Records temperatures of refrigerators in the temp log.
12. Keeps adequate levels of supplies stocked in area so the next shift has needed items readily
available.
13. Works as an active team participant towards solutions to common problems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous barista experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Food Handlers card required.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $19.37 - $26.16 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
