The Compete & Market Intelligence team delivers clear, actionable insights on competitors, market shifts and emerging skilling trends that inform strategy and help design the best learning experiences.As the Compete & Market Intelligence intern, you willinvestigate emerging learning technology startupsandidentifypotentialpartners that can strengthen Microsoft's skilling ecosystem. You will alsoanalyze learning behaviors and trends among university students to understand what would make Copilot compelling and drive stronger adoption among next generation learners.

As a Business Program Management Intern, you willidentify, define, and design opportunities to support and/or developnew programsor improve current programs. You will advocate for anddemonstratethe value of the program through clearly defined metricsin order togain buy in from stakeholders,partners,and customers. You willmonitorprograms to ensure all activities align with programobjectivesandensureprogram processes are executed efficiently including change management and/or program improvement efforts.

This roleis 100% remote and may be performedfrom anyUS basedlocationduring the8-week program which starts June 15,2026,through August7, 2026.



Responsibilities
  • Support research onemerginglearningtechnology trends and startups toidentifyopportunities that could strengthen Microsoft's skilling programs.

  • Help analyze user, market, and competitive data-including learning behaviors-to uncover insights that inform program improvements and drive adoption of tools like Copilot.

  • Contribute to evaluating program performance by reviewing success metrics and surfacing recommendations to enhance effectiveness and user experience.

  • Synthesize research and insights into clear, actionable recommendations for program owners and partner teams.

  • Collaborate with partners to build program collateral, share learnings, and support stakeholder alignment.

  • Participate in a crossintern project performing structured teardowns toidentifyissues,opportunitiesandprovide improvementrecommendationsacross an endtoend experience.

  • Prepare and deliver a final presentation toGlobal Skillingstakeholders, summarizing insights, recommendations, and potential next steps.



Qualifications

RequiredQualifications:

  • Currently pursuing aBachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related fieldduring the academic termimmediatelybefore the internship.

  • Must have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies.

PreferredRequirements:

  • Experience in program management, process management, or process improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise narratives and recommendations.

  • Curiosity about emerging learning technologies, digital education, AI tools, and student trends.

  • Experience with competitive, market, or startup ecosystem research, including analyzing user behaviors or other market data.

The base pay range for this internship is USD $4550.00 - $8170.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6210.00 - $9320.00 per month.
