The Role

As the Advisor, Talent Development, you'll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. In this role, you play a key role in designing, implementing and overseeing programs that drive employee performance, support professional growth and develop leadership capabilities. This position focuses on performance management, employee and leadership development, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The ideal candidate will have expertise in talent management, performance assessment, and instructional design, as well as exceptional facilitation skills. They should be passionate about helping employees reach their full potential and fostering a high-performing workforce.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Instructional Design (40%)



  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skills gaps, assess training needs and prioritize learning solutions aligned to organizational and leadership developmental goals.
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve engaging, effective, learner-centered learning experiences and resources that support leadership development, employee capability building, and organizational development goals.
  • Design and implement leadership development, coaching and mentoring programs to support leadership growth and build the capabilities of current and future leaders.
  • Develop learning assets including facilitator guides, participant materials, visuals, toolkits, job aids, and digital content.
  • Develop performance metrics to track and evaluate eectiveness of learning initiatives to ensure desired learning outcomes are met.
  • Choose appropriate delivery methods (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led, blended learning) and learning technologies to engage diverse audiences and enhance the learning experience.
  • Review and update training content regularly to maintain accuracy, relevance, and alignment with the organization's evolving needs and best practices.


Employee and Leadership Facilitation (30%)



  • Leverage adult learning principles and best practices to facilitate engaging learning experiences using a variety of instructional approaches, methods and modalities.
  • Facilitate a range of learning experiences, including leadership development programs, cohort-based initiatives, performance management training and competency-focused learning sessions that enhance skills and performances across the organization.
  • Evaluate existing programs and make recommendations for improvements to enhance the learning experience.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through assessments, feedback and performance metrics.


Talent Development and Advisory Support (5%)



  • Serve as a learning and development advisor to leaders by assessing development needs and recommending appropriate learning solutions.
  • Contribute to talent development initiatives by aligning learning programs with organizational priorities and workforce needs.
  • Monitor learning and leadership development trends and apply relevant training and design practices to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, coaches, and training partners to support development efforts.
  • Share insights and recommendations to inform continuous improvement of learning and development offerings.
  • Identify and implement tools, resources, and learning opportunities that promote professional development and engagement.


Learning Systems and Administrative Support (25%)



  • Support learning technologies by maintaining and updating content within Cornerstone, including learning assignments, completion tracking, reporting, and learning-related system updates.
  • Design and update internal SharePoint sites to support access to learning resources and development tools.
  • Provide learning administration and operational support as needed to ensure smooth delivery of programs.
  • Identify and implement tools, resources, and learning opportunities that promote professional development and engagement.
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to design career pathing strategies that align with company growth and employee aspirations.


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing learner-centered, interactive learning experiences
  • Strong facilitation skills with demonstrated experience leading engaging, learner-centric learning experiences for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in creating visually engaging, facilitator-ready learning materials
  • Advanced proficiency with Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) and Vyond software
  • Experience developing, updating, or maintaining internal SharePoint sites
  • Experience with training and development platforms (LinkedIn Learning, Cornerstone)
  • Strong collaboration and consulting skills, with the ability to partner effectively with subject matter experts, leaders, business partners and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative, generate innovative ideas in talent development that contribute to overall strategic goals
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle fluctuating priorities
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in support of building a team-based culture of work
  • Ability to develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English


          Preferred qualifications for the role



          • Exposure to non-profit setting
          • Professional learning certification (Association of Talent Development-APTD, CPTD)


          Compensation

          Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



          • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $91,800 - $102,600 base salary
          • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $83,725 - $93,575 base salary
          • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $74,800 - $83,600 base salary


            The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
