As an Elite Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a busy retail location, conducting routine foot and vehicle patrols and remaining highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge processes, communicate professionally with shoppers and staff, respond to calls for service, and document observations. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver's license and Texas Level III armed certification, backed by agile, reliable, integrity-driven teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, customers, and/or employees by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies, and assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Carry and maintain required issued equipment for an armed post, follow all applicable laws and company guidelines, and communicate clearly with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disputes and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards and/or suspicious behavior.
• Complete detailed reports and logs, monitor CCTV and/or access points when assigned, and report maintenance or operational concerns to site management.

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess, or be able to obtain, any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Armed Security Officers and specific protective device and weapons qualifications
• Must be willing to be trained on, carry, and utilize, if necessary, a Taser and baton
• Must possess one or more of the following;
• Minimum of three (3) years of military, law enforcement, or corrections officer experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of employment in an armed security role
• Current employment with Allied Universal with a minimum of four (4) years armed experience
• Be at least 21 years of age, or higher if required by the state
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons
• Be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
• Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
• A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
• Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
