Position Purpose:
The Management Systems Specialist ensures that all production, environmental, and safety processes meet established quality and regulatory requirements. This role provides independent, objective assessments of our departmental activities through routine audits and documentation reviews. By identifying non-conformities, verifying corrective actions, and promoting a continuous improvement culture, the Management Systems Specialist helps maintain product integrity, reduce operational risk, and supports a culture of quality throughout the organization.

Critical Success Criteria:



  • Consistently plan, lead, and document routine operational, environmental, and safety audits that meet internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure audit findings are accurately recorded, risk-ranked, and communicated, driving timely and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Act as the voice of both the internal and external customers to ensure all departmental products meet the customer requirements
  • Lead, develop and maintain the Gopher management system records and documentation. Review, interpret, implement, and develop management system standards.



Other Responsibilities:



  • Knowledge of ISO standards, understanding of requirements, ability to analyze gaps, and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance.
  • Participation in external ISO audits and maintaining certification.
  • Demonstrate creativity in scoping, managing, and implementing projects to meet business needs.
  • Create, update, and review technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, job aids, etc.
  • Assist in investigations and determine disposition for internal/external reported defects and develop corrective action plan(s).
  • Assist in investigation of suppliers and process-related quality issues. Drive the product update process including the review of new customer specifications
  • Liaise between plants and clients to maintain customer relationships and ensure all concerns and non-conformances are resolved
  • Assist with technical reviews of new products and specifications.
  • Assist with customer visits and other customer communications.
  • Conduct final product inspections and review analytical results when necessary
  • Review cpk's (process capability index) on a periodic basis and work with the plants to improve our product quality
  • Assist scale with processing Certificate of Analysis for outgoing material
  • Provide input on quality improvement initiatives and set strategic quality goals for the manufacturing process.
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by management.



Requirements:



  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or technical field from an accredited school
  • At least 2 years of previous work experience with either ISO 9001 or ISO 14001
  • At least 2+ years of previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing teams and communicate at a technical level.
  • Robust technical and functional understanding of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Ability to think broadly, apply systems-level perspective, and work within established strategic frameworks
  • Willingness to obtain Lead Auditor certification in one or more ISO IMS standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office and ability to grasp new technical systems quickly.
  • Superior attention to detail, organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, ability to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple priorities concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Energetic, willing to assist other team members, and motivated to assume additional responsibilities
  • Aptitude and desire to gain understanding of situations, processes, and procedures to improve upon them.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related technical field from an accredited College or University preferred, but not required
  • Previous work manufacturing experience in a continuous improvement or process optimization role preferred, but not required
  • Previous work experience with ISO 45001 preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with Intelex software and its applications preferred, but not required
  • Previous work experience in continuous improvement disciplines such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, visual workspace, etc. preferred, but not required



Physical Requirements:



  • Willingness and ability to wear full-face respirator mask (clean shaven if applicable) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hot/high temperature production facility with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation



Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $88,054-$140,655. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
