AEGIS Missile Software Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for an AEGIS Missile Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Responsible for SM-3 Block IIA Missile Communications support for Radio Frequency missile communications components.

• Operational and technical support to integrate existing and developing operational command and control systems.

• Develop and document system architectures and functions in applicable Interface Control Documents, specifically the GFC/C to Link-16 interface document.

• Provide performance assessment and verification (PAV) support to the Systems Engineer for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Program Office.

• PAV processes and plan development, monitor and implement plans to assess and verify system performance.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM.

• 7+ years of experience working on DOD or missile defense software programs.

• Works independently, as a team member, or as a leader of teams/tasks.

• Ability to apply engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.

• Provide programmatic oversight of the SM-3 Block IIA Missile. Communications, components, development, and integration within the Guidance Section (GS) and Kinetic Warhead (KW).

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance.

• Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems.

• Experience with Missile System Software Development.

• Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc. Strong written and oral communication skills.
