LowVoltage / Security Systems Technician Job Overview We are seeking LowVoltage / Security Systems Technicians to support commercial construction and service projects. This role focuses on installing, servicing, and maintaining access control systems, surveillance cameras, structured cabling, and related lowvoltage infrastructure. Technicians will work in commercial buildings, campuses, and other largescale facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians looking for steady project work, consistent schedules, and longterm growth within the physical security and lowvoltage industry. Key Responsibilities * Install, service, and maintain lowvoltage systems, including: * Electronic access control devices and electrified door hardware * Surveillance cameras and video management systems * Structured cabling systems (Category cable, fiber, and lowvoltage) * Wireless access points and related security/network devices * Perform cable pathway installation and proper cable management * Test, troubleshoot, and resolve system or connectivity issues * Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite organization * Follow safety standards, jobsite protocols, and best practices * Complete installation documentation and service reports * Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and other technicians * Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the security industry Work Environment & Schedule * Primarily commercial job sites (new construction and retrofit) * Typical schedule: 4 tenhour days, with occasional overtime * Limited weekends; night work may occur depending on project needs * Travel between regional job sites may be required * Company vehicles, specialty tools, and PPE provided * Technicians must supply basic hand tools Minimum Qualifications * 1+ year experience in lowvoltage, physical security, IT, or electronics * Commercial installation experience preferred * Familiarity with access control, CCTV, and structured cabling systems * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles * Comfortable working at heights (ladders, lifts) Preferred Experience / Skills * Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, lowvoltage) * Access control platforms (Lenel, S2, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, etc.) * Surveillance systems (IP and analog cameras, headend equipment) * Door hardware installation (electrified locks, strikes, crash bars, readers) * Knowledge of major door hardware manufacturers * Experience in construction or service environments * Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills Soft Skills & Attributes * Punctual, reliable, and safetyfocused * Coachable attitude with a strong work ethic * Organized and detailoriented * Professional appearance and communication * Ability to work independently or as part of a team * Willingness to travel and adapt to changing job sites Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, SC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
