Job Description

Job Description
The Associate Actuary- Retirement Plans provides actuarial services including supporting, maintaining, and measuring insurance products for our Retirement Plan Division. The role will touch many aspects of the financial business of Retirement Plans, including new case underwriting, in-force management, financial forecast and analysis key performance indicators in actual result reporting. The incumbent is responsible for providing actionable information that enables good business decisions along with designing and managing project initiatives and business processes within the job area.


Position Location



  • This position is remote (within the U.S.A.) and does not require regular in-office presence. This position can also be hybrid based on proximity to an office location.



What you do:



  • Manage risk and ensure the appropriate level of profitability for retirement plan products.
  • Run repricing reports on existing business and new phase quotes
  • KPI reporting and financial forecasting
  • Identify and resolve problems for internal teams including corporate actuarial, Financial Planning and Analysis teams
  • Support the management of Ameritas' in-force RP products evaluating profitability and development of key product assumptions through experience studies.
  • Monitor and evaluate adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop partnerships within the organization to engage in cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Design, test, and maintain actuarial models for the specified actuarial purpose.
  • Compile and analyze data; using statistical formulas and other actuarial methods.
  • Respond to requests for information from actuaries, accountants, auditors, management, and other associates including external stakeholders. Provide actuarial analysis where appropriate.



What you bring:



  • 4-7 years of related experience required; preferred experience working with retirement plan products
  • Prophet experience preferred
  • Excel experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics required.
  • ASA (Associate, Society of Actuaries) required. FSA (Fellow, Society of Actuaries) desired and highly preferred.

About this Position's Pay
The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package (see above for details). This position will be eligible to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Plan with the annual target defined by the plan.
