The Ohio State Job Shadow Experience is a halfday, immersive, inperson opportunity for Ohio State engineering students to explore careers at NiSource and gain real-world exposure to the utility industry. Students will engage with engineering professionals through guided networking, an employee panel, and a structured job-shadow "day-in-the-life" experience that highlights how engineering work supports safe, reliable energy delivery for our customers and communities. This event is intentionally designed to help students connect classroom learning to industry application-through conversations with employees, observation of real workflows, and a behind-the-scenes look at how engineering teams collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization. What You'll Gain By participating in the Ohio State Job Shadow Experience, engineering students will: Gain firsthand exposure to NiSource's culture, values, and mission, and understand how engineering plays a critical role in the utility and energy industry. Explore real-world engineering applications and see how classroom concepts translate into practical, impactful work. Learn about internship and earlycareer opportunities and the variety of engineering career paths available within the organization. Build meaningful connections with engineers, recruiters, and crossfunctional team members through structured networking and jobshadowing experiences. Hear directly from employees about their career journeys, professional development, and daytoday work. Leave with clear guidance on how to stay connected with NiSource and how to pursue future internship or fulltime opportunities. Share personal interests and career goals, helping shape future earlycareer programming and recruiting efforts. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at The Ohio State University Must be enrolled in an approved engineering program, including: Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Engineering Technology Mechanical Engineering Materials Science & Engineering Welding Engineering Professional Expectations: Business casual attire recommended. Come prepared with questions about engineering work in a utility environment, internship pathways, and how engineering teams collaborate cross-functionally. This event is intended for networking, learning, and career exploration purposes only. While participants will gain exposure to potential internship and earlycareer paths, this is not a hiring event, and attendance does not guarantee an interview or offer.
