Overview

NV5 is seeking a Geospatial Operations Consultant to support initiatives to Expand NV5's work with Ports on a part-time basis. This role supports NV5's strategic growth in the ports sector by contributing expertise across business development, operations, industry engagement, and proposal quality.

Work Environment:

    Location is flexible: NV5 Regional Offices or work from home considered
  • Part-time < 30 hours per week
  • Travel < 20% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Review CEQA documents and permit applications to support client projects.
  • Manage a subset of permit projects and CEQA projects as necessary to balance workloads.
  • Perform report review to ensure RIPTIDE provides quality products to clients.
  • Assist with RFI's to position RIPTIDE to win work in Ports and elsewhere.
  • Meet with sales teams to help identify strategy and discussion points.
  • Stay informed of legislation and initiatives and notify NV5 leadership of opportunities for work.
  • Strategically attend relevant meetings and conferences.
  • Review and provide feedback on occasional white papers and proposals.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Geography/GIS, or related field; Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years experience as Environmental Consultant specializing in Port initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a project team, and communicating effectively (oral and written).

  • Ability to work well within a team/hybrid environment
  • Ability to apply creative solutions and strong problem-solving skills
