Perform all tissue culture related laboratory duties required for Monoclonal Antibody Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Use sterile technique to perform dilutions and expansions of customer cell lines.
  • Perform sterile techniques for cell expansion
  • Freezing cell stocks.
  • Counting cells for preparation of cell inoculum.
  • Preparing buffers, tissue culture media and other solutions.
  • Strictly adhere to BPS Standard Operating Procedures when performing all laboratory functions.
  • Keep accurate records, following strict guidelines when filling out paperwork and batch records for individual production runs.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as centrifuges, incubators, pipettes, etc.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Accurately enter all required information into the computer databases.
  • Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment according to BPS guidelines.
  • Maintain routine laboratory supplies at adequate levels.
  • Maintain liquid nitrogen storage tanks, including tracking of cell banks and addition of liquid nitrogen as needed.
  • Communicate with Group Leader and/or Supervisor when any deviation from established procedures or routines occurs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions and written Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations required for preparation of cell inoculum.
  • Must have manual dexterity to handle various laboratory instruments and perform laboratory procedures with care.
  • Must be able to accurately complete records in compliance with Federal cGMP guidelines and enter data into a computer database.
  • Must be observant and pay attention to detail.
  • Must be dependable, punctual and be available for weekend work and overtime as required.
  • Science background and experience in microbiology or tissue culture propagation utilizing sterile techniques is preferred.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
