This position manages the overall operation and administration of all vehicle inspections while providing support to Check-In, Imaging, Post Sale Inspections, and Arbitration functions (Dealer, Commercial & Specialty). Key responsibilities include scheduling staffing to match vehicle volume, facilitating training to ensure accurate, high-quality vehicle condition data, and ensuring condition reports are delivered on time.

The Inspections Supervisor oversees inspection operations for dealer, commercial, and specialty vehicles. This role manages staffing, scheduling, training, quality assurance, performance management, and supports Post Sale Inspections and Arbitration teams to maintain operational excellence and exceed client expectations. The Supervisor partners with cross-functional teams to uphold Manheim standards, SLAs, and safety requirements.

  • Manage day-to-day inspection operations and coordinate workflow with Check-In, Imaging, Post Sale Inspections, and Arbitration teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of vehicle condition in Smart Inspect, AS400, and other systems.
  • Schedule inspectors and support staff based on vehicle volume and operational flow.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop inspection, imaging, check-in, Post Sale Inspections, and Arbitration staff.
  • Deliver skill-based training, including the Inspector Certification Program (ICP), and promote advancement based on certification levels.
  • Train and utilize tools such as Smart Inspect, Manheim In-House & Mobile Inspection T1 CR, MIC 2.0, FIT Console, OCC, Image Audit Dashboards, and related applications.
  • Oversee documentation of vehicle condition, CR data entry, and system updates.
  • Conduct quarterly, mid-year, and year-end performance reviews and ongoing coaching to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Monitor KPIs, productivity, utilization, SLAs, and initiate strategies for workflow improvements.
  • Perform physical and quality audits in accordance with Manheim QA Program.
  • Review arbitration outcomes, Post Sale Inspections results, and CR discrepancies to identify training or corrective needs.
  • Resolve dealer/client concerns related to inspections, Post Sale Inspections, Arbitration, and condition reports.
  • Monitor and analyze Tableau dashboards, including:
  • Safety, Cycle Time, and Arbitrations
  • Vehicle Information Dashboards: Inspector Compensation, Images, Secure, Productivity & Utilization, Training, Undercarriage, Quality Audit, Policy Loss Claim
  • Enforce company policies, government regulations, and NAAA policy standards.
  • Lead by example and maintain a respectful, inclusive work environment.
  • Requisition materials, equipment, and oversee maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Support and model Safety Excellence.
  • Partner with support functions (Finance, HR, Recon, MFS, Safety, Security, Sales) to optimize operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Work Conditions:

  • Frequent outdoor exposure and moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
  • Requires visual acuity including color, depth perception, and close/distance focus.
  • May frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or climb.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field (automotive or auction preferred).
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory, lead, or management role.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using operational tools and dashboards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of DMV laws, transportation regulations, and CR best practices.
  • Certification through Manheim's ICP program.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

USD 55,600.00 - 83,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $55,600.00 - $83,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:
