Quality - Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer - Transmission and Driveline

The North America Quality organization is currently seeking a Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer to join the Control Tower & Field Quality team (CTFQ) at the Headquarters & Technical Center (QEC) Auburn Hills, MI. CTFQ Engineer is responsible for assisting in the administration and/or coordination of multiple vehicle systems including compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, agendas, minutes and correspondence. The incumbent will report to a team lead or supervisor/manager and should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for automotive and powertrain development. This Opportunity is in Propulsion System Group - Transmission and Driveline.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Facilitating cross functional project meetings Compile project status reports, coordinate project schedules, agendas, minutes and correspondence Identify and analyze system requirements, and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables involving multiple stakeholders
  • Lead the resolution of warranty related issues - Accountable for problem solving process, proposed solution, validation, and weekly progress
  • Lead Triage - warranty claims review, sorting claims and bucketing, review and call vehicles at dealers, support Stellantis/Suppliers review at Quality Engineering Center and Manufacturing locations.
  • Establish & validate containment & permanent actions at Stellantis / Supplier Plants by physically reviewing the product/process changes, internal metrics and control plan update

  • Maintain project timelines

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from accredited University
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
  • Knowledge about Transmission and Driveline system and components
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in engineering
  • Familiar w/ Quality-related metrics
  • Shainin RedX Black Belt
  • Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe
  • Design for Six Sigma
  • Project Management
