Hiring Range:

$119,912.00 - $152,131.20

UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Newborn Nursery team At UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, the Newborn Nursery is the unit where healthy newborns receive care immediately after birth and during the first days of life. It's staffed by a multidisciplinary team - including newborn hospitalists, nurse practitioners, nurses, lactation consultants, social workers, and pediatric care providers - who focus on well-newborn care and support for families.

This service typically includes:

  • Routine assessments and monitoring of newborn health
  • Management of common non-critical conditions (e.g., jaundice, feeding concerns, late-preterm care)
  • Family education on newborn care (feeding, sleeping, screening tests, etc.)
  • Support from lactation consultants for breastfeeding and feeding questions
  • Counseling for parents about newborn health and safety basics
    The nursery team works closely with obstetrics and pediatrics to ensure smooth transitions from delivery to newborn care.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • A Master's degree and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Preferably ACNP/AGACNP
  • Acute Care/Critical Care clinical experience required
  • Board Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
