Electrical Engineer Needed

Location: Arden Hills, MI (Onsite)

Pay Rate: Up to $84/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Employment Type: Contract

A leading medical technology organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer IV to support sustaining engineering and product lifecycle activities for fielded medical devices. This onsite role focuses on electrical design analysis, component qualification, compliance testing, and cross-functional collaboration within a regulated environment.

The Electrical Engineer IV will play a key role in analyzing circuit-level and system-level changes, supporting manufacturing, and ensuring continued compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support sustaining engineering for existing medical device products
  • Analyze and implement electrical design changes from individual circuits to fully integrated systems
  • Perform component and BOM replacement analysis, including defining required testing
  • Test new or replacement PCBA components and evaluate results against established criteria
  • Troubleshoot failures related to circuit boards, cables, power supplies, and displays
  • Conduct electrical, EMC, and safety testing and document design updates
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and contract manufacturers to resolve production issues
  • Partner cross-functionally with quality, regulatory, sourcing, and manufacturing teams
  • Support regulatory submissions by providing test data, rationale, and standards compliance documentation
  • Ensure adherence to internal Quality System requirements



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in product development or sustaining environments
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers
  • Proficiency with manual tools such as soldering irons and crimpers
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in regulated industries, especially Class II or III medical devices
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 testing standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and cross-functionally
