Function:

Lead and support strategic operations and risk initiatives for the Consumer Bank, with a focus on enhancing client experience, reducing risk, and improving operational efficiency. Work closely with the Chief Consumer and Business Banking Offiicer and serve as senior partner to Consumer Bank leadership, providing guidance on operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and change initiatives. Act as a key liaison across business lines, risk, audit, compliance, and external partners to ensure alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify/mitigate risks, provide oversight and guidance on operational assessments, process improvements and change management initiatives.

  • Lead and support remediation efforts related to audit findings, risk assessments and regulatory requirements

  • Work closely with Consumer Bank line of business leaders and collaborate with vertical partners including the Director of Customer Experience, Audit, Financial Intelligence Group, Compliance, General Counsel, Risk Management, Vendor Risk, Information Technology, and Information Security to appropriately mitigate risk and create operational efficiencies.

  • Identify emerging risks and threats to develop preventative measures to reduce and transfer risk. If there is a level of risk acceptance, appropriately document the relevant factors and ensure input from the risk advisors; and periodically monitor.

  • Implement practices related to risk management strategies, employee procedure oversight and employee training.

  • Partner with vertical risk managers to stay current on the changing regulatory environment and provide insight into potential impacts. Engage with LOB leaders to drive successful regulatory changes.

  • Provide guidance to Consumer Banking line of businesses to approach, and develop appropriate action plans leveraging Enterprise Risk Methodology and Standards

  • Develop executive-level reporting and insights for senior management and board committees, translating complex risk and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations

  • Success metrics determined through the reduction in audit findings, regulatory exam results, partnership in reduction of risk tied to client experience compliance issues, limiting operational losses, timeliness to issue remediation concerns, while helping the LOB leaders to drive revenue growth.

  • Lead change control efforts at the process level to ensure impacts are appropriately assessed, documented, and implemented.

  • Supports the Consumer Banking divisions:

    • Lead and support the Retail Operations group to maintain operational effectiveness and enhance operational functions through training, coaching and collaboration. Ensures efficient operations, quality customer service and operation of branch offices in an effective and profitable manner in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.

    • Supports business continuity and operational resiliency planning for Consumer Banking division, including incident response, testing and post-event reviews

    • Helps to coordinate, develop, and implement various policies and procedures within the consumer banking divisions to ensure compliance with regulations.

    • Support lines of business within Consumer Banking around risk management initiatives as necessary

    • Contribute to strategic initiatives including branch operations changes, system enhancements, and business process improvements

    • Leads and directs the Retail Operations team and business risk control manager.

    • Supports the Chief Consumer and Business Banking Officer with operational needs, including monitoring the internal issues management tracking, participating in, and building presentations for internal committees, board committees, and quarterly business reviews.

  • Provides additional support with branch openings/closings, conversions, branch hour changes and emergency notifications.

  • Provides support and coordination to the Bank's Deposit Exception Pricing Program.

  • Provides support and coordination in Fair Lending projects and initiatives

  • Acts as the Line of Business liaison between the Consumer Banking and Audit, Financial Intelligence, Compliance and CRA

    • Represents the Consumer Banking Division through committee participation including Deposit Rate Committee, Compliance Committee, CRA & Fair Lending Compliance Committee, Data Governance, Fiduciary Committee, SOX Committee, ERMC and Business Continuity

  • Manages vendor relationships for the Consumer Banking Division including but not limited to:

    • Pinnacle, Evergreen Insurance and Brand Ambassador

      • Assist with strategic planning as it relates to the vendor relationships to enable growth and drive results.

      • Develop and maintain relationships with the vendor product managers and representatives.

  • Provides support and coordination to the Bank's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) as necessary.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.

  • Assumes additional duties as required.

Physical Demands:

Operates office equipment: 10% of the day. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the fingers, thumbs, hands. The job requires reaching above the shoulders, which is slow in speed. Use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18"-20" for computer work and travel.
