GENERAL SUMMARY:

Senior Planning Analyst provides analytical support to the full range of strategic and business planning initiatives and develops increasing project management capabilities and strategic focus.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads groups through planning process, coordinates group output and develops planning documents that reflect strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Business Planning. Participates as a team member in the development of business plans for product development throughout the system. Utilizes departmental resources and databases to provide utilization models and predictive methodologies. Supports analysis and business planning for external relationship opportunities.
  • Data Retrieval and Analysis. Assembles and analyzes market data from various internal and external databases and sources.
  • Creates analytical reports and presentations to support management decisions. Provides consultation and analytical support for system marketing efforts and operational product lines. Specific duties include evaluating market segments along product and regional lines; identifying market utilization trends; developing models to project future utilization.
  • Facilitates implementation of departmental planning and marketing databases.
  • Develops, maintains, and utilizes planning and market information to support market coverage/ environmental assessments, business planning and strategic analysis.
  • Environmental Assessment. Creates, distributes and/or presents in-depth market and competitor intelligence reports to support business and strategic initiatives.
  • Certificate of Need. Market Analyst develops in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for covered services, provides consultation on CON requirements to system clients. Manages the preparation and submission of CON documents and establishes contacts within MDCH for project consultation.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency with data retrieval and analysis, database management, and spreadsheet analysis required.
  • Experience and mapping software a plus. Project management skills essential.
