Join the Ramily! Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is seeking an Administrative Support Associate to support the Department of English and the Department of World Languages and Cultures.

The Administrative Support Associate ensures efficient operations for the Department of English and the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Ideal candidates will have experience in general office management and possess effective communication skills, a strong sense of professionalism, and a working knowledge of office software.
Responsibilities of the Administrative Support Associate include:
- Provide administrative support to the chairs and faculty; manage the department calendar and the Chair's calendar
- Compose emails, letters, memos, and reports
- Answer and respond to telephone and email inquiries regarding departmental programs, policies, and activities.
- Open and distribute mail
- Maintain office equipment and oversee supply inventory
- Compile information for budget reports and class schedules
- Assist the chairs, faculty, staff, and outside vendors with processing forms and problem solving as needed.
- Process Personnel Action Forms for chairs, faculty, and students.
- Serve as scheduler in Banner Course System for course assignments
- Arrange and schedule events using 25Live
- Plan, facilitate, and support departmental activities; coordinate with faculty and staff to complete tasks
- Complete travel forms for department chairs, faculty, invited speakers/guests, and potential faculty hires
- Assist and give directives to students and vendors
- Approve student workers' timesheets (when applicable)
- Maintain and organize daily business activities of the departments
- Manage and audit departmental budgets, ensuring all funds are accounted for and balanced at the end of each month
- Accept and offer directions courteously and willingly to faculty, staff, students, and vendors when necessary.
