Summary:

The Registered Xray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in an orthopedic and sports medicine outpatient pediatric setting. This role focuses on providing high-quality images to support orthopedic evaluation and treatment while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs all radiologic procedures to produce high quality imaging for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.

2. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social educational, and safety need of the patients served regardless of age.

3. Performs clerical duties in RIS, WFM (PACS), Power Share, and hospital computer systems as required.

4. Follows all QA/QC guidelines for equipment.

5. Directly supervises and assists affiliated radiography students.

6. Ensures radiation safety standards and ALARA principles in all imaging procedures.

7. Other duties as required.

Other information:
Technical Expertise

1.Experience in general radiographic/fluoroscopy examinations preferred.

2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

3.Experience in healthcare is preferred.

4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Experience in RIS, PACS, EPIC or other related software is preferred.

Education and Experience

1.Education: [Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.

2.Certification: Radiologic Technologist licensure is required. Certified to practice in Ohio is required.

3. Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required.

4. Years of relevant experience: Orthopedic pediatric imaging is preferred but not required.

5.Years of experience supervising: None.

Working conditions

The orthopedic and sports medicine radiologic technologist will image within the outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics throughout the Akron Children's Hospital system. Travel to locations within the system is required.
