Hours: Part-time, 25 hours/week
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-3:00pm (hours may vary based on need)

Location & Travel: Local travel in and around Quincy, IL and Hannibal, MO (no overnight travel)

Position Overview:

The Family Store Truck Driver supports the Quincy and Hannibal Family Stores through the safe, timely pickup and handling of donated goods. This roles includes driving a Salvation Army box truck, assisting donors and customers, supporting warehouse operations, and helping maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Safely operate a Salvation Army box truck to pick up donated goods from scheduled locations.
  • Provide friendly, professional, mission-focused service to donors and customers.
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and follow all DOT and Salvation Army Fleet requirements.
  • Load and unload donated items and customer purchases with care and courtesy.
  • Evaluate donations and communicate respectfully with donors regarding items that cannot be accepted.
  • Issue accurate donation receipts and thank donors for supporting the mission.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and forklifts (training and certification provided as required).
  • Assist with warehouse organization and general store cleanliness, including dock and sorting areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality, comply with Safe from Harm guidelines, and contribute to a positive, respectful work environment.



Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year of related experience preferred (driving, warehouse, customer services, or general labor).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification Card.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification (required prior to forklift operation).
  • Must pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Strong customer service skills, basic communication abilities, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.


Physical & Working Conditions:



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally with assistance or equipment.
  • Work performed outdoors and in warehouse environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, odors, and equipment.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
