| Summary |
Howard Community College (
HCC) is looking for instructors with experience working with adults with developmental disabilities to teach for our
CORE program.
CORE meets M-Th. 3:00-5:30pm on-campus, and F 3:30-5:30pm online.
CORE is a continuing education program that allows adults with developmental disabilities to maintain or build on their basic reading, math, social and independent living skills while exploring practical real-life topics in a supportive and welcoming environment. Exercise, computer skills, and leisure skills are also incorporated into the program.
We are also looking for adjunct instructors to teach additional classes beginning Fall 2026, including skills for independent living, employment skills, academic skills, and special topics. Please reach out to

| Essential Role Responsibilities |
- Prepare and teach age and developmentally appropriate lessons centered around practical, real-life topics.
- Be knowledgeable and passionate about working with adults with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a respect for differences.
- Respond to issues professionally and with an understanding of how disabilities affect learning and behavior.
- Collaborate with other instructors to maintain consistency throughout the program.
