As an E&I Field Engineer, you will be part of a global team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and practical problem-solving, while never losing sight of the people and communities our projects support.

Purpose of the role

As an E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Field Engineer at Worley, you will be responsible for supporting the construction and commissioning phases of industrial projects across traditional and emerging energy sectors. You will act as the technical authority in the field, ensuring electrical and instrumentation systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with design intent, applicable codes, and Worley's commitment to safety and sustainability. This role plays a critical part in bridging engineering design and real-world execution, enabling reliable project delivery today while supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.

Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting and applying complex electrical and instrumentation designs, specifications, and drawings to field construction and commissioning activities
  • Working closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to resolve field conditions and adapt designs where required
  • Supervising and inspecting E&I construction activities to ensure compliance with approved documentation, industry codes, and Worley standards
  • Providing technical verification and acceptance of completed electrical and instrumentation installations
  • Troubleshooting and resolving construction and commissioning challenges with practical, field-ready engineering solutions
  • Leading by example in health, safety, and environmental performance, reinforcing a strong safety culture on site
  • Supporting construction and commissioning planning, including schedule alignment, material readiness, and workforce coordination
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of field engineering procedures, work instructions, and quality practices
  • Mentoring junior field engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to promote capability development and collaboration
  • Managing and documenting technical changes and field modifications to ensure accurate as-built documentation
  • Communicating clearly with stakeholders through progress updates, technical input, and issue resolution to maintain alignment with project objectives

  • Confidence interpreting construction documentation such as electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and specifications
  • Experience using engineering tools, project systems, and digital platforms that support integrated, data-driven project delivery
  • A practical approach to identifying, managing, and mitigating field-level risks while protecting schedule, cost, and sustainability outcomes
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical issues into workable site solutions
  • Clear, professional communication skills suited to engaging with site teams, contractors, engineers, and project leadership
