Job Summary This role supports overnight operations in a live colocation data center environment. The NOC Technician monitors network and infrastructure systems, responds to alerts, and performs hands-on fiber and copper work to ensure stable and reliable operations. The position requires experience terminating and maintaining fiber, familiarity with data center infrastructure, and the ability to work independently on night shifts. This role is scheduled for overnight weekday coverage, with two available shift options noted below. Job Responsibilities

Monitor network and infrastructure systems through approved tools and dashboards

Respond to and escalate alerts, outages, and performance issues as required

Perform fiber termination, patching, cleaning, and testing in a live environment

Complete copper and fiber cable runs, dressing, labeling, and organization

Support rack-and-stack activities for network and customer equipment

Assist with troubleshooting connectivity issues across Layers 1-3

Execute basic hardware diagnostics and replace failed components as needed

Document incidents, resolutions, and shift activity in internal systems

Perform scheduled health checks, equipment reboots, and patch panel audits

Install and support infrastructure components such as ladder racks and fiber trays

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant work area

Communicate professionally with team members and other support groups
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
-
1-2 years of experience in a data center or NOC environment

Proven experience terminating fiber and working with fiber jumpers, patching, cleaning, and fiber color codes

Familiarity with SC and LC fiber connectors and related components, including Corning fiber and LIUs

Knowledge of infrastructure systems such as CRAC units, HVAC, and basic power-down procedures

Experience with network monitoring tools (preferred)

Ability to work independently during overnight shifts

OSHA 10 certification (preferred)

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders or lifts, and stand for extended periods

Basic hand tools required: multi-bit screwdriver, snips, pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, gloves, tool pouch, and steel or composite toe boots
