This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Greenwich Drive and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Strategic Financial Improvement Analyst provides specialized expertise in financial analysis, initiative development, and performance improvement to drive organizational effectiveness. This role focuses on evaluating and implementing cost containment strategies, benchmarking, and data-driven decision-making across labor and non-labor areas. The analyst partners with leadership to identify inefficiencies, develop actionable solutions, and ensure alignment with system-wide goals. Responsibilities include conducting targeted financial reviews, supporting strategic planning, and facilitating improvements that enhance operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct targeted financial reviews to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cost containment strategies for labor and non-labor expenses.
  • Perform benchmarking and comparative analysis to inform decision-making and set performance targets.
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to design and execute initiatives that improve financial and operational outcomes.
  • Support strategic planning processes by providing financial insights and modeling scenarios.
  • Monitor and report on initiative progress, ensuring measurable impact and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Create dashboards and analytical tools to enable real-time performance tracking and transparency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience including: finance, identifying and implementing operational efficiency and performance improvement, targeted financial reviews & benchmarking.

  • Advanced knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized, strategic organization interventions.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills.

  • Highly skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building.

  • Applies strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

  • Possesses strong consulting, relationship building, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Demonstrates skill consulting to managers and groups at all levels.

  • Ability to coach, facilitate and influence people at all levels.

  • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained; sound judgment; ability to draw unbiased conclusions.

  • Ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.

  • Ability to persuade through both logic and appeal to positive motivations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Advanced excel skills.

  • Previous healthcare experience.

  • Experience with healthcare finance tools (ESPi, Strata, Axiom).

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
