Job Duties/Scope Of Work

At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. A day in the life of an Emergency Preparedness Specialist includes, but is not limited to, performing the following duties under general supervision:
* Oversee the creation and refinement of Emergency Preparedness drill packages, ensuring processes are optimized and documentation meets program standards.
* Serve as the principal Drill Coordinator, organizing and conducting emergency preparedness drills across assigned facilities, and providing guidance on best practices.
* Conduct in-depth evaluations of Emergency Response Organization members during drills, utilizing advanced evaluation criteria to verify qualifications and enhance operational proficiency for ERO positions.
* Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of the CPCCo Emergency Preparedness program documentation at their assigned facilities/areas.
* Ensure all applicable program requirements are implemented at assigned facilities, including Hazard Surveys, Emergency Planning Hazards Analyses, and/or Building Emergency Plans/Facility Response Plans, as applicable.
* Maintain fully operational Emergency Response Organization at assigned facility/facilities to include identifying and training backup personnel.
* Support the operational drill program at assigned facilities, including assistance with scenario development, drill execution and evaluations, drill report review, and development of lessons learned.
* Lead formal assessments and inspections to verify program implementation, measure effectiveness, and identify opportunities for programmatic improvement.
* Lead the documentation and implementation of corrective action plans to address identified emergency preparedness weaknesses, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
* Develop and revise Emergency Preparedness documentation to reflect new requirements, new revisions, and operational changes, as necessary.
* Organize and lead monthly Emergency Preparedness and Operations meetings to track and communicate program status to leadership, following established reporting standards and timelines.
* Participate in off-shift drills, as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience in the field of Emergency Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Hazard Materials Response. * Experience in Nuclear Operations, Conduct of Operations, training, emergency response and/or drills. * Experience in writing detailed reports, procedures, and/or training documents. * Certifications in IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS-100) and/or IS-230 Fundamentals of Emergency Management. * The ability to work in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on evenings and weekends in the infrequent event of an emergency. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
Senior Level Grade 18: $94,750 - $151,800
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
