Job Duties/Scope Of Work

At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide support in the following areas:
* Provide Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software support
* Incorporate design changes into configuration-controlled drawings
* Perform Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC)
* Work within the Hanford Drawing system
* Train under and work alongside an existing Design Authority in supporting the Soil & Ground Water Operations (S&GO) Pump and Treat facilities.
* Become a proficient Design Authority and be able to handle all the associated responsibilities, (i.e. spares management, procedure technical authority, troubleshooting, work package resolution preparation and approval, equipment walk-down, electrical safety document preparation, and electrical design).
* Provide technical engineering expertise to the S&GO Pump and Treat Facilities, Engineering Management, Design Authorities, Maintenance, and Operations and to develop skills in design, construct, test, and commission, operate, and maintain electrical distribution systems.
* Become proficient in Electrical System designs, system operating/maintenance procedures, preventative/corrective maintenance packages to facilitate S&GO facility operations.
* Must be capable of understanding one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and vendor shop drawings.
* Perform all work safely and in compliance with environmental obligations using the core functions and core elements of the Integrated Safety Management System/Environmental Management System (ISMS/EMS).
* Takes responsibility for personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
* Participate in work planning, hazard identification and control, work performance within the controls including feedback and continuous improvement and stop work responsibility.
* Communicates daily with S&GO staff. Communicates status of assignments, challenges encountered with work assignments, and understanding of planned/approved work scope.
* Written & verbal communication skills are used continuously to maintain a common understanding between this individual and the customers within the project.
* Detailed written communication skills are applied routinely to communicate technical challenges and document technical recommendations/solutions.
* Demonstrates creativity, adaptive thinking, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and/or solving complex or novel engineering problems.
* Be available to support emergency outages during off normal schedule hours.
Basic Qualifications
* Intermediate Level Grade 17: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 4 or more years of relevant experience.
* Career Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 6 or more years of relevant experience.
* Career Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Displays strong written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Previous experience with working with a design team OR
* Previous experience working as a Project Engineer or Design Authority OR
* Previous experience working as a Facility Engineer
* Knowledge on SKM Power Tool for Windows
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Effective 1/1/2026 Salary Range: * Intermediate Level Grade 17: $86,200 - $137,650.
* Career Level Grade 18: $94,750 - $151,800.
* Career Level Grade 19: $104,200 - $166,650.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
