Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Product Engineer III. Leads design activities for custom mechanical system projects. Duties include coordinating customer requirements, ownership of project design, defining project schedules, and project cost management. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, detail orientated and able to work with cross functional teams. Location: Phoenix, AZ - In Office4 days a week + 5-10% Travel

What you will do:

  • Provide a complete design including variety of technical areas: mechanical, structural, plumbing, and electrical discipline

  • Establish project schedule including key milestone dates

  • Coordinate with external customers on project requirements and technical updates

  • Define design standards to meet an acceptable quality, performance, safety, and cost standard.

  • Support production with technical expertise of engineering designs.

  • Assist in defining and designing test requirements to meet customer needs

  • Assist in using manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping to improve productivity.

  • Assist in various Cost Improvement Goals, proposing new ideas and initiating cost reduction and product improvement effort to increase overall value of product.

  • Provide timely resolution of field service problems using sound engineering judgment.

  • Take on project management responsibilities and work on business process improvement projects.

  • Keep current on product and component technology improvements and industry trends to effectively perform functions of the position.

  • Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to assembly of product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical, scientific or engineering degree.

  • 4-6 years of related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
