As the Global Product Manager, Passive Fire Protection, you will develop the global product strategy for PMC's entire intumescent passive fire protection (PFP) product range. You will your respective product and new product development (NPD) portfolios and manage product life cycles, improve range complexity and support growth in priority segments. Working from our Pittsburgh General Office, you will be eligible for a hybrid schedule and will report to the Global Platform Director. We may also consider working remotely outside of Pittsburgh. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Global Product Strategy according to the Global Business Platform.
- Orchestrate execution of global product line strategies within regions, by providing governance and oversight to regional product managers
- Critical interface between Segment Management, R&D and commercial teams to lead alignment and set priorities
- Support segment managers during key customer discussions to assess needs from industry experts and share critical product characteristics
- Lead the global NPD portfolio by product category and lead decisions for prioritization and resource commitment
- Update all supporting documentation for products in respective categories.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Supply, Technical and Manufacturing to develop product life cycle optimization (product launch to elimination).
- Compile global assessment of competitive products to identify points of difference
- Develop compelling value propositions for the product line
- Final decision rights around system design w/ technical service
- Support business case development for capital and resource investments
- Gather, quantify and analyze market intelligence and data from multiple sources to develop a clear market assessment, identify viable business prospects, and support decisions on new opportunities.
- Engage external customers at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related degree
- 5+ years of experience in product development, strategic marketing or product management
