Senior Maintenance Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

The Senior Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining optimal building performance across JLL's portfolio of commercial properties. This position combines deep technical expertise in a specialized craft area with broad multi-skilled capabilities to ensure seamless facility operations. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll drive building efficiency, tenant satisfaction, and asset value through proactive maintenance, rapid problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge building systems while contributing directly to JLL's reputation for operational excellence and client service.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Execute comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs through CMMS systems, managing work orders for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems while monitoring BAS alarms and escalating critical issues
  • Perform systematic troubleshooting and analysis of complex building systems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions that restore optimal operation and prevent future failures
  • Maintain and repair HVAC equipment including chillers, compressors, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, motors, and automation controls using industry-standard diagnostic tools and maintenance procedures
  • Complete electrical maintenance tasks including fixture repairs, basic wiring work, and conduct plumbing repairs on restroom fixtures, water heaters, piping systems, and sump pumps
  • Lead building improvement projects including ceiling and floor tile replacement, painting, pressure washing, drywall repairs, and tenant service requests while coordinating vendor activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication with tenants and stakeholders, maintain detailed maintenance records, support emergency response within 45 minutes, and participate in on-call rotation schedules
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safety protocols across all activities while ensuring completion of required training programs and maintaining meticulous attention to detail

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with technical certification or trade school completion in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in commercial building maintenance with demonstrated expertise in at least one major craft area (electrical, HVAC, or plumbing)
  • Strong knowledge of building automation systems, CMMS software operation, and ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to respond to emergency calls within 45 minutes
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling and OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training completion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and willingness to participate in on-call rotation schedules
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at various heights using ladders and scaffolding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in facilities management, engineering technology, or related technical field
  • Additional certifications in multiple craft areas (electrical license, plumbing certification, HVAC technician certification)
  • Experience with energy management systems, preventive maintenance planning, and building commissioning processes
  • Knowledge of local building codes, fire safety systems, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate or property management environment
  • Basic welding, carpentry, or general construction skills for facility improvement projects
  • Experience with tenant relations and customer service in professional building environments

Salary/Comp: $62,400 - $72,800
