GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) is an allied healthcare professional responsible for evaluating how the body responds to exercise and using that knowledge to support patients in adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyles. In this role, you will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team to conduct exercise stress testing, supervise clinical exercise programs, and provide individualized physical activity counseling for patients with a wide range of chronic and complex medical conditions.

CEPs play a key role in programs such as Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Supervised Exercise Therapy for PAD, Weight Management, Bariatric Services, and specialized oncology exercise programs-delivered both in-person and through telehealth. Daily responsibilities include monitoring vital signs and ECGs, developing tailored exercise prescriptions, teaching use of exercise equipment, assessing patient progress, and providing education on exercise, lifestyle, and overall health.

This position requires strong clinical assessment skills, comfort working with diverse patient populations (including elderly, frail, and special-needs individuals), and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations under ACLS protocols. CEPs also participate in quality improvement initiatives, conduct fitness assessments, support community ECG screening events, and deliver educational presentations.
