A Senior Consultant in the Valuation practice will focus primarily on valuation engagements which require the calculation of whole or fractional interests in a business, the intangible assets of a business, and complex securities. Position involves researching industry and economic data, building financial models, applying valuation methodologies, performing financial analysis, writing reports, discussing conclusions, participating in client meetings, and assisting with project scoping.

Your role.

  • Integral part of the project engagement teams to deliver clients the valuation of businesses and intangible assets in the context of mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax and regulatory reporting, restructuring, and management planning
  • Prepare business valuation related research, analysis and modeling
  • Prepare valuation reports from start to finish and communicate conclusions to clients
  • Assist with the preparation of financial and operational assessments
  • Development and review of financial forecasts
  • Support the Assurance team for auditing the third-party valuation report
  • Analyze financial statements, including inventory turns, significant spending, variance to budget analysis, capital turns, etc.
  • Participate in client meeting visits while interacting with top-level management to acquire and assess important information for financial analysis
  • Assist in preparing proposals and engagement letters
  • Interact with other practice areas including but not limited to audit, tax, and other management consulting service groups
  • Participate in "non-proposal" practice development activities
  • Assist in billing activities
  • Effectively execute individual project tasks, with focus on overall project objectives

The qualifications.

  • Bachelors' Degree in accounting, economics, finance, business or related field is required. CA/CPA/CFA is preferred.
  • Valuation or relevant designation (e.g., ASA, CFA, ABV, etc.) is preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years of direct business valuation experience in a public accounting firm or valuation advisory firm. Candidates with real estate valuation experience will preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team and/or independently
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgment within broadly-defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • General business knowledge and experience in working with clients and managing multiple projects
  • Self-starter; ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Technology skills required to:
    • Work with firm systems, including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
    • Identify uses of technology to improve client deliverables and/or assessment efficiency

Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO, IL, or MA. Please review theposition location for theapplicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range for their position, as compensation decisions are determined through a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer market-based starting salaries that are consistent across individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in IL, MA or CO is: $87,000.00-$115,000.00
