The Senior Tools Administrator supports IT operations within a large-scale enterprise environment, providing administration, maintenance, and optimization for monitoring, patching, and security tools. The position ensures consistent, secure, and compliant operation of enterprise systems while supporting cross-functional collaboration within the ESTOM team.

The administrator is responsible for standardizing and centrally managing application creation and deployment, establishing and documenting defined baselines, system parameters, and configuration formats. The role also provides technical guidance in the daily administration, maintenance, and operations of the customer's enterprise, ensuring system compatibility, data distribution integrity, and timely response to alerts and compliance requirements.

The environment includes enterprise security tools such as CrowdStrike, WebInspect, and Entuity, which are used for threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and system monitoring, along with other platforms that provide visibility into infrastructure health and performance. Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune are used to support patching and compliance across the enterprise. The Senior Tools Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all security and monitoring tools remain fully patched and compliant with current enterprise security standards. While responsibilities are distributed among multiple team members, the Senior Tools Administrator is expected to demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn new technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support enterprise monitoring tools to maintain system availability and security.
  • Ensure all security and monitoring tools are patched to current versions and remain compliant with enterprise security and configuration standards.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise monitoring tools, ensuring effective alerting configurations for infrastructure and applications.
  • Support and troubleshoot day-to-day operations such as patching, compliance, and deployment.
  • Maintain a professional and collaborative work environment supporting all team members.
  • Participate in customer meetings to discuss monitoring, security, vulnerability management, and compliance topics.
  • Troubleshoot issues across workstations, servers, and cloud environments as applicable.
  • Support server and workstation client management in a large enterprise of 40,000+ devices using best practices for package creation, scripting, deployment, and compliance validation.
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc reports to technical leads, customers, and management detailing accurate point-in-time system status and compliance levels.
  • Lead or contribute to technical discussions and develop required briefing materials to meet customer needs.
  • Manage and resolve ServiceNow ticket queues; perform trend and root-cause analysis to resolve recurring issues; document all work in ServiceNow.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists
  • Provide weekly status updates to team leads.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of experience in IT support or related field.
  • 3 years of experience supporting and maintaining enterprise security or monitoring tools.
  • 4 years of active complex PowerShell use.
  • Exposure to reporting using Power BI.
  • Experience creating deployment packages for COTS and custom applications in an enterprise environment (40,000+ users).
  • Experience administrating Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and 2022 environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 Desktop Operating Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, customers, and external vendors.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Experience creating and implementing PowerShell scripts.
  • Proficiency with Windows Command Line, Event Viewer, and Windows Update logs for troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Azure Automation, AWS System Manager, PowerShell DSC, or Ansible for configuration management.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) version 2409 or later.
  • Experience deploying cumulative updates, servicing stacks, and feature updates using Microsoft Windows Installer and MECM task sequences.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and co-management integration for hybrid environments.
  • Experience supporting Enterprise IT operations for 40,000+ endpoints across on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
